Montebello Jewish Center strives to bring the beauty and depth of the Jewish Tradition to the citizens of Rockland and Bergen Counties. We are proud to see ourselves as a congregational family, invested in living a life of commitment to our values and aspirations, constantly searching and learning together to improve our lives and the world beyond the walls of our sanctuary.

Our community is a place for people of all backgrounds and knowledge to celebrate Judaism in a warm and energetic environment. We are a congregation who loves to sing, laugh, learn, question, and practice our creativity in the presence of people we have known for years and whom we have just met. We look forward to meeting you at our next event!

Through our passion and dedication to Jewish engagement and living, our congregational family prides itself on its warm community of multi-generational individuals and families. We strive to create a home for vibrant, participatory, and musically inspiring prayer, as well as innovative programming for all ages. We are committed to cultivating a love of Judaism for our youngest members, inspired through our youth groups and religious school, as well as our continuing learners who enjoy a myriad of programs and classes.

At Montebello Jewish Center we engage the World and our community the Jewish way!

Happening at MJC

  • The Breakfast Run is scheduled for Sunday, March 31st.  In addition to the food items we will be providing, we are collecting toiletries and clothing to be given out that day.  Please click here for a list of the items that are needed.

  • MJC is hosting a Community Conversation on Co-Ocurring Disorders for teens and adults.  For more information, click here.  This program will be held on Sunday, March 3rd at 10:30 am

  • Kiddush Levanah:  Join Elana and Rabbi Finkelstein for our next Kiddush Levanah on Thursday, February 7th at 7:00 pm.  Kiddush Levanah is a celebration of the new moon, the new month, and life.  Each month, shortly following the beginning of the Hebrew month, we say Kiddush Levanah, the blessing of the moon.  Kiddush Levanah is a simple ceremony that takes us outside, as we bless God for the continual renewal of creation and the opportunities that await us in the new month.
